Buying a vintage watch. Reasons to be cheerful 1,2,3

So you want to buy a watch?

Why buy vintage over modern?

We get asked this all the time and the answer is simple. Although at the end of the day you should buy a watch primarily because you like it, what happens when you decide that you prefer something else? You go back to the dealer only to find that your watch is worth 40% of what you paid for it as a trade in.

When you buy a quality vintage timepiece you are buying a piece of history and a lot of the time if you buy well you are buying an appreciating asset.

Lets look at an example of this, the Rolex Submariner reference 5513. In 2014 you could buy a good example for £3000-5000, today upwards of £7500!

More and more people are investing in vintage watches instead of money in the bank. Why would you put money into an ISA for 1% when you could enjoy a great watch and get 10-15% year on year?

Here at watches of Sussex each piece is selected for it's uniqueness , quality and saleability making a purchase with us not only something to enjoy but a cast iron investment.
